I see this as pointless. There is a conceit among fans that what they think of players makes a difference. It doesn't. Everybody loved these same useless, fat, beer-swilling, chemistry-free, chicken-plucking, video-gamers, when they were on pace for 100 wins.
The Sox take Papi's willingness to play anywhere that will pay him more money as a given. There's no point in advising him to talk about New York. I just think that this was a miserable year for all concerned and Papi is as sick of it as the rest of us, meanwhile you have New York which managed to win the division handily and then get bumped from the playoffs immediately without having the organization turn into a circular firing squad. The Yankees are looking pretty good to everyone right about now.
