Golf is very stressful on the back muscles. I can accept that the guy might
need to skip a start if he has irritated his lat muscle, but there is just no
way he should be golfing. And the fact that he did it at a local golf course,
where he knew he would be recognized, just demonstrates his complete disregard
for what Red Sox fans think.

I couldn't give a hoot if Beckett was playing golf. He can't rehab his mild
injury 24 hours a day, and golf isn't exactly a high impact activity. If he
wants to use a couple hours of his free time playing golf, where's the harm.

If Beckett was spotted watching "The View" on his couch with a Diet Pepsi in
his hand, someone somewhere would be up in arms that he wasn't watching game
tape and drinking protein shakes.

This is just ridiculous ...

Is that what he was doing when he was with us? Playing baseball? Didn't look

Have you heard the "confirmed" reports that Beckett and Buchholz were out
golfing in the rain last Thursday, the day after he was scratched from his
Saturday start with a "lat injury".

Not sure if it is true, but if it is, it just adds more fuel to the whole
chicken and beer atmosphere in the Red Sox clubhouse. These guys just don't
give a damn.
