My father claimed he had seen someone peddling the left-over trees as "Hanukkah bushes". I can't exclude the possibility that he was making it up (he being one of those Jews to whom it appeared to mean only NOT being Christian), but it sounds like rather far to take a joke to expect people to pay for it.
