That odd Motorola and Maxon as well as many other sell repeater that are
mobile radio is a housing. This is a very common thing and as long as
the radio is type accepted then its fine. 
I have been in the LMR business for years and see lots of repeater that
are 2 mobile in a box. I don't prefer this setup and would use a real
repeater normally.

Be very careful,mobiles are not type accepted for repeater use in the
GMRS
or commercial band. Check the rules to avoid a big fat fine,,,see
www.fcc.gov
