Hello Chuck - Yep on the cheap hamfest connectors - although they were made
in the USA,
Pure junk - Live and learn - I use only Amphenol nowadaze.

Are you using cheap "hamfest" connectors or are they Amphenol or Kings? I
think if you stick with a name brand, you'll find that they will work well.
The silver plated imports are junk.
