I remembered someone advertising "Made in the USA" when I sent my post.

Anyway, there's a lot of junk out there. You can tell almost immediately
when you start to screw the barrel onto the SO239. It doesn't "feel" right.
And, no, it won't tighten properly.

Buy from a trusted source and get a name brand and all will be OK.
