Thanks for all the fast replies.  The only hitch in my idea is 
finding a voip or voice client for the blackberry that is not 
designed to make cheapy phone calls, but that can work like a walkie 
talkie, either full duplex or half duplex.  

Any one know of a blackberry app that can work like that?  Skype for 
the blackberry has to work thru a desktop like a remote.
