Steve, Is there any reason you don't want to use mp3 files on your iPod for the car? This is *exactly* why I wrote flac2mp3 [1], i.e. I have a large flac library and a 60gb iPod photo for the car. IMHO, there's no point trying to use lossless, or particularly high quality file formats in the car because: a. car audio is not particularly audiophile, and b. wind noise masks a lot of the sound So, my advice would be to cut your losses and transcode to mp3.
