This has been a big project over the last year or so since I got my
SB1. After dusting off my old turntable and replacing the belt and
cart, the process is very straightforward, though somewhat
time-consuming (but well worth the effort as I like the results I get
over most of the cheap CDs I've seen). I have even bought lots of used
vinyl when I can find it reasonably priced. I even get great results
from some cassette tapes. Here's my process:

1) Record through an external USB sound card (I use an Edirol UA-1X) to
my laptop (was using a WinXP, now a Mac). Several recording software
choices to create a WAV file of the entire side are available.

2) Process the WAV file through WaveCorrector to remove surface noise
and clicks/pops, etc. and to split into tracks. It has an output script
to create individual FLAC files by track, numbered, named and minimally
tagged.

3) Complete the tagging process by using MusicBrainz Picard tagger.

Unless the source is badly damaged I can usually complete an album in
less than 15 minutes (not counting the record time, which is done in
the background while I do other things).
