What you want to do is relatively straightforward. There are several
ways you can achieve what you want including, but not limited to: (the
first 2 methods require that the mac and pc are on the same LAN)

1) Enable file sharing on windows (just the folder that contains your
music, or the root of the partition if you need to share more than just
the music). Then on the Mac in finder, click on "Go" and select "Connect
to Server". Within the box type
smb://IP_address_of_your_windows_machine/name_of_share . A finder
window will appear and you can copy music from here to wherever you
want on your mac.

2) Enable windows file sharing on the mac (I hear this is slightly
different in Leopard, but the general method holds). Then go to your
network neighbourhood in windows, locate your mac, navigate to your
desired target folder, and drop your music there.

3) Share an external drive physically between the 2 computers. If your
windows external drive is formatted to FAT32, the mac can read or write
to it, and if it is NTFS, then it can only read; in any case simply plug
in the external drive via USB or firewire, and it should appear on your
mac desktop. Then you can copy your files wherever you need to.
