If you are talking about MP3, neither BAND nor ALBUMARTIST or anything actually exist.
id3v2.3 (the most common used probably) tags are 4 characters, things like 'TPE1' and 'TPE2', which are often made more readable with other names (like ARTIST or BAND, respectively... but some taggers may call TPE2 'ALBUMARTIST' and such.).
