I use an internal drive in my HP Pavilion d4180 & win XP SP2 it a TSST corp some kind of no name stuff. I achive 3x to 10x speed depending on disc's in secure mode so 7-8 minutes to rip in secure mode and Accurip and flac encoding ? 45 min sounds like mine laptop ;-)
But i've been thru all the hops regarding testing and setting upp the drive, including finding out offset and read methods and stuff. I also uses the External ASAPI interface from VOB as suggestet by EAC (se EAC option's in EAC or press F9), the old version's of eac worked like crap on XP machines without it. The newest version should work with native Win32 interface for the drive, but who knows. I second dBpower amp or CDex as reliable alternative. And you should realy use flac for lossles as it is native on the SB3 and don't needs any transcoding on the server -- Mnyb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42354 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
