year of allmusic.com and GD3 for metatags plus Musicbraiz and freedb.
They have shown that its even a bit more secure than EAC and faster.
You can try the reference for 30 days free I believe so you might just
want to play with it. It's pretty cool ripping from multiple cd's at
once. I have 2 built in and an external dvd/cd so I had 3 ripping about
40 cd's one day. I felt like a record producer :) All I had to do was
load them in and let them rip and encode to my flac and lossy
directories. For flac it uses the newest flac reference library and
you can have it imbed and make a folder.jpg. I tried the winamp and
they have improved it a lot. For some reason they us Flake flac instead
of the reference. I liked the player but the program is a bit cluttered
for my tastes as a library manager. You're right it does replay gain
now and I tested it against some I had done and was almost the same. I
still like mediamonkey better for a library organizer and all around
program but it could use some of winamps design features to dress it
up. If you've never tried mediamonkey you might want to give it a try.
It lays your library out a bit clearer if you're working on a bunch of
albums. It's about like Winamp in that most of it's free, the parts
that aren't are about the same as winamp. In mediamonkey you can use
Winamp plugins and even the winamp player as a default player and use
Mediamonkey for library functions. Nice combo actually now that Winamp
supports replaygain. I'll ramble off now. :)
