A couple of ideas here...
1. I have no problem with dividing up the music into any "suitable" categorisation, my preferred way of listening to classical music is to pick a genre lets say Organ and listen to that, which works very well. If I want to listen to a symphony I would normally listen to all of a symphony rarely listening to snippets. 2. The fact that I have put the music into folders by CD is only to allow me to have the correct album art as per "folder.jpg" for each disc and no other reason. I have found that SC is better when reading a folder.jpg for album art rather than trying to extract the art from a file. 3. As I have stated before using the web interface is not an issue with any of the current schema. I use Erland's custom browse plug in to find the piece that I wish to listen to. 4. The issue is really for other users of the SBC. If they wish to srcoll through the albums on the SBC to randomly pick some music to listen they won't want to get to D and have to scroll through 40 CDs of Dvorak before getting to Early 21st Century Blues. Similarly they would rather not have to scroll through 170 CDs of Mozart before getting to Mr Lucky by John Lee Hooker. 5. There is one solution and that is to leave the directory structure as is but remove all disc numbers from the tags and just have one enormous album. As I said if I want to listen to classical music I either do it by opus/work or by genre.
