Hey egd, thanks for these suggestions. I tried doing the above for my entire library of 27,000 tracks, but it crashed halfway throught the Tag Paste bit. I've now split my library into separate folders for each letter A-Z. I opened MP3Tag and pointed it to just the T folder and did the Tag Cut and Tag Paste for all files in that folder and then saved the changes. It doesn't appear to have made any noticeable difference - it still takes a long time to make updates and even just to load tracks. I tried googling for the type of app you mentioned to pad out the metadata but am not really sure what I'm looking for so didn't have any joy. Actually, can't believe I forgot to mention this - all my tracks are actually located on my Windows Home Server and I'm using MP3Tag on a laptop connected to the network, so there's obviously some network lag involved. I might try install MP3Tag on the WHS and try and Remote Desktop into it from the laptop to see if I can get it to do local updates. -- OhPinchy ------------------------------------------------------------------------ OhPinchy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15882 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51977 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
