In addition to the "usual" set of tags, I've found two more tags especially useful: ARTISTSORT and ALBUMSORT. If you don't have these tags, then SqueezeCenter will sort your artists and albums according to the ARTIST and ALBUM tags, which may or may not be what you want.
For example, consider Jimi Hendrix. Suppose you want to see his name displayed as "Jimi Hendrix", but would prefer to have him sorted along with the H's rather than J's - then by setting an ARTISTSORT tag of "Hendrix, Jimi", you get that result. ALBUMSORT is probably only for sad gits like me who want to have an artist's albums within an artist sorted in chronological rather than alphabetical order. I set ALBUMSORT to be ARTISTSORT + the year of release. If they made more than one album in a single year, append a letter accordingly. For example, the ALBUMSORT tags for Sgt Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour are "Beatles 1967A" and "Beatles 1967B". Some people who are even sadder than me use the full release date (eg. "Beatles 1967-06-01" and "Beatles 1967-11-27"). -- cliveb Transporter -> ATC SCM100A ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54688 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
