Just a little rant against the users I have to cope with every day:
They rip a radio stream at 64kbps, convert it to 320kbps CBR (»better
QUALITY!«), then someone complains about used disc space, it gets
converted again, this time to ~170kbps VBR, and eventually to a
FLAC—since someone heard about »now it’s LOSSLESS! Hooray!«
… You wouldn’t believe it, but this is what people actually
do … and dBpoweramp makes such stuff pretty easy. And just before
writing that post, I had a support call that went in this direction.

Fortunately (in this case), dBpoweramp »Power Pack« and »Reference«
versions have to be paid for. Worth the money, btw. Don’t
misunderstand me, I quite like it, and it’s software well-done
that does a great job. :-)
