The simple rules for flac compilations are as follows (this is what I use, others may work as well but I know this does!):
1) All tracks in the same folder 2) TITLE tag must match exactly on all tracks 3) No ALBUMARTIST/ALBUM ARTIST tags at all 4) Individual track ARTIST tags set to correct values 5) COMPILATION can be set to 1 or left off, it shouldn't matter. I set it for the benefit of iTunes. Check that's what you have (it sounds like it is), then do a full wipe & rescan.
