Phil - Thanks again for all of your help - you have a keen grasp of how SC works. I'll continue to head that way (slowly)
Re: your last post, I suppose splitting out Soundtrack from Compilations is a matter of personal preference - but I can tell you my thinking. A compilation, as I use the term, is a collection of previously issued material that [generally] I have purchased to acquire the individual songs. With such collections, I am less interested in hearing the complete album from start to finish than I am in when it comes to other parts of my collection. In addition, I have way too many of these compilations, and therefore searching through the Various Artists list of albums is cumbersome. Soundtracks, to me, have a few differences. 1. Many film soundtracks I enjoy are a combination of previously issued material PLUS material first introduced (and in some cases only available) on the soundtrack album. To me this is a bit different than a compilation (as personally defined) 2. I am much more interested in listening to a soundtrack album from start to finish. I probably bought it in the first place because I liked the way the overall music was part of, or enhanced, the film. 3. I have way fewer soundtrack albums than compilations, and my tags give me an easy way to get a list of my soundtrack albums. I seldom browse or search by album title, so this works better than putting an "OST" in the album title. ...so, I guess it just works for me. I think a final part of that is that this matches up to the way that I always physically sorted the actual CDs, thereby preserving the sort in my head. -- SlimTrigger ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SlimTrigger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19278 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=58069 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
