Use the menu Action > Create CUE Sheet > Current gaps (or similar wording). This will create a non-compliant CUE sheet, which is what you generally want for copying CDs. I usually detect gaps first (F4), create the CUE sheet, manually entering the directory where to store it, then rip the CD. If you create the CUE sheet _after_ ripping, I believe EAC will already have analyzed the gaps and will default to storing the CUE sheet in the last used folder, which should be where the ripped files were stored.
