If you want to listen to more than one album without having to adjust
the volume level?
Replay gain has a standard target level of 89dB.
Most of today's recordings are considerably louder (hence the negative
RG value).
If you set the album gain to 0.00 you will get a very noticeable
loudness difference whenever you switch from album gain to track gain
or vice versa (even if SB does it automatically when set to smart
gain).
If you can't hear any difference between album gain enabled and
disabled with you system I can't think of any reason NOT to use album
gain.
