Can't we have a boilerplate response to this by now, instead of threads
that drag on for pages?

- If you tag your music properly, SqueezeCenter deals with most
collections correctly (it does have a few problems, but most people
will not see those)
- Some software (such as WinAmp) will not work properly unless you tag
your music improperly
- Ergo, if you try to use the same files in both WinAmp and
SqueezeCenter, you will likely encounter problems. This will remain
the case until WinAmp is fixed

I'm sure we could come up with a boilerplate reponse for the other side
too, such as:
- WinAmp may not be adhering to all the required specifications, but
it's out there and SqueezeCenter should try to accomodate it as long as
it doesn't break properly-tagged collections

At which point all reasonable observers can agree that the real problem
is mistagged collections, that software like WinAmp is the reason
mistagged collections exist, and that it's only WinAmp's reluctance to
fix the problem that has brought us to this point. But that only takes
care of the "whose fault is this anyway" question, which usually is not
the primary question--the real question is "how can we fix this?"

There are two answers:
- Fix your tags. If that means switching to different music management
software, so be it. There are plenty out there to choose from that do
not have WinAmp's limitations
- Propose a fix to SqueezeCenter (in bugzilla, not here), with the
understanding that if it breaks properly-tagged collections, it's never
going to be implemented

And that's it! It really is that simple!
