You could try the << and >> buttons on the controller or remote. A
quick click moves to previous / next track, but a continuous press acts
as a sort of 'rewind' or 'fast forward' key. Works well (on recent
software anyway) and you also get a track time display.

I also recommend SyncBack. Surf to
http://www.2brightsparks.com/downloads.html#freeware and download the
freeware version. Works just fine. I have it configured to synchronise
files in the Music directory structure on the NAS with the equivalent
directory on the USB drive. It will report on the changes before
proceeding. I find it much better than a manual copy. The only (?) thing
it won't do is delete empty directories on the target drive - these may
occur if you change a directory name of the source drive. One thing it
does well is identify files on the target which are not (any longer) on
the source drive - you can then select them for deletion. This can occur
if, for example, you rip a CD to FLAC where you previously only had MP3
files. It all works well and is fast.

Before using SyncBack I used MS SyncToy. This seemed to work well and I
have recommended it elsewhere on these forums, but I found that it does
have the problem of not identifying and allowing selective deletion of
files on the target drive. I don't use it now, and recommend SyncBack
instead.

Hope this helps
