@ MrSinatra: If the -content- (i.e., # tracks, same songs, same sequence) isn't different, the MB Id for the -release- (i.e., "album") will be the same (though the PUIDs for the single tracks might differ).
The theory is to have only -one- entry for the "same" music, -but- the different releases can be added to the album (i.e. date, country, EAN number, media, etc.) -and- will be stored as additional tags (like publisher, release country, date, catalog number, barcode number, etc.). I use this feature to distinguish between different "release types" (i.e., "Album", "Single", "EP", "Compilation", "Interview") and "release statuses" (i.e., "Official", "Promotion", "Bootleg") in MusicIP. So I can easily come up with MusicIP searches like ?SEVENTIES && ROCK && LIVE && !BOOTLEG which would select Seventies' live Rock songs that aren't bootlegs. -- Moonbase Moonbase: 'The Problem Solver' (http://www.kaufen-ist-toll.de/moonbase) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Moonbase's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21594 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62556 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
