Eric, Thanks for the quick response. Either turning the volume down to 0 ( says muted ) or up to 100 % still results in "Ran out of decoder data memory" on the SB3 display. I used DVD audio extractor which decodes from DVD into multichannel FLAC directly. The white noise problem occurs only when I use other utilities to rip to .AC3 or .DTS file and then convert to .wav with the SPDIFFCONVERT python utility followed by a flac conversion with flac.exe.
I must be overlooking something silly...
