If you search for some of the threads where I have posted you will get some further information about ripping/encoding DVD-Audio discs.
Most DVD-Audio discs have hi resolution 2 channel PCM tracks though they may be MLP encoded which means you have to use DVD-Audio explorer to get them into .wav format. From there you can encode them to FLAC to be able to add tags. In the event that a DVD-Audio disc only has MLP 5.1 tracks then your only option is to use the downmix option, if the disc has it. You can research the downmixing to learn more about it though my understanding is that it utilizes some sophisticated algorithims to derive 2 channel output. Not all DVD-Audio discs have the downmix information on them so it is possible to be stranded for a 2 channel rip from a DVD-Audio disc. -- Kiwi SB3 Classic, SB Controller, SB Receiver, 3 x SB Boom, ?
