Yeah, you're right - I was ripping to Apple lossless. I've now given up on the idea. I found a CD which iTunes couldn't rip properly. it was horribly clipped and distorted. I've decided to forget my attempt to move over to iTunes. I'm going to keep my WMA VBR rips as my primary library and just use iTunes to copy the stuff to the player. I'll probably switch to WMA lossless for the future and perhaps gradually migrate my existing CDs.
It means converting from lossy to lossy format but I'll only listen to the player while walking around outside. My previous player was downconverted to 128kb/s WMA and it didn't bother me. This time I can keep a high bitrate but I suppose it depends on the result. Maybe a downconvert would hide some defects. -- AndrueC ------------------------------------------------------------------------ AndrueC's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6612 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73703 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
