Keep in mind that the column as defined in Mp3tag only checks for
embedded images. Like you, I only want cover.jpg files, so this gives
me a good indication that I need to remove the embedded image.

That -is- the MIME type that I was talking about.

You can also easily remove embedded images using an Mp3tag action. You
could automatically run this on every file to be certain you have
nothing embedded. The action is:

-Action type:- *Remove fields*
-Fields to remove:- *PICTURE*

Or, to run the action by itself, you can use the drop-down arrow next
to 'Actions' button and then select the action group name.

Wow, they really buried that option. Sounds like I was wrong about
Mp3tag being able to directly embed the cover from the Tag Sources.

If you have the column showing whether there's an embedded cover and
you see a cover named 'cover.jpg' in the Tag Panel, then you should
know at a glance whether there are both or one or the other.

That's a great tool. Yes, if it shows 'Contains: Album Art' then it's
talking about an embedded image in the tags, not a separate file.

Other than the Windows Explorer mouseover tool mentioned above, I don't
use dbpa.
