Thanks JJZolx. I only use mp3tag to go in the other direction (create directory and filename from TAGS) so I thought it worked the same way in reverse in terms of using directory info. Your excellent guide will solve the problem though. (and creating and using actions in mp3tag is one of its best/most flexible features).
