You make a very good point. I'm natively a Mac/Linux guy (and former IT tech), but dealing with the drivers for my specific card (no, the Rivendell install disk didn't work, and never has), plus the headache of getting JACK to work as expected for processing hasn't been the simple process I was hoping for. All this is to say, I like the experience that Rivendell will (hopefully) provide.
I guess the answer now is to step away for a few days and come back with a clear head... and possibly, the help of a Rivendell Guide who knows the slopes better than I ever will.
