Just to let you know that from now on there is a new VMware image on the wiki that enables you to compile all parts of rockbox from the start.

Right. In fact I even meant:

        ../tool/configure --ccache

That is the option is named --ccache with two 'c' in the front.

ccache is a system that caches compile results so that subsequent invokes with
the same conditions simply reuses a previous object file instead of doing the
same compile again.
