My opinion is to go for customizing the button, if that doesn't make the
code a LOT more complex.
That way users will finally have a way of (slight) button configurability
that so long crave for, while not making it a "support  nightmare". It seems
to me more balanced that way, especially when we are talking about a spare
button.
