by my understanding of it, i can release my entire derived work as GPL
with the attribution exceptions.

actually - this is all OT and stupid. neither of us is a lawyer and no
one not on this list will ever care. i have no intenetion of ditching the
attributions and helpfiles and whatnot. i don't think that anything else
should matter to anyone here.
