Sounds about right.  You _really_ need a test file with a bunch of audio 
segments in it, and a mixture of long and short ones.

Another question.

Seems we have Profiler output for getAudioPreviewData and 
makeAudioPreviewRects enabled.  If I load a file with audio segments 
and then left-click in a blank part of the canvas, I see one of these 
Profiler output lines printed for every segment on the canvas.

Why?

I've noticed that vertical scrolling while you drag a selection 
rectangle is now terribly slow, and I'm thinking this may be related.
