I honestly don't see the problem.  Take a finished or at least basically 
fleshed out composition and delete all the tracks at the end that aren't 
being used -- does that really look wrong to you?  It looks considerably 
tidier and less confusing to me.  I always remove the unwanted tracks from my 
own arrangements (few as they are).
