I wouldn't have thought it would scale at all, but if you think it can, or 
already does, I defer to your superior knowledge on the subject.  You're the

I explicitly exported both, but I think the code only sees a stem property to 
export if it was overridden by the user.  Otherwise there's no property, and 
no action.  I'm not quite sure what I'm talking about, but I had to manually 
hack some of the stems in that Bach demo piece to get them to match up with 
the slurs.

It sounds useful.  Are you planning to implement this, or hoping somebody else
