I upgraded my kernel and fglrx on an x86_64 machine recently and X will not start. When I try 'startx' from a console, I get a message of the form
... (II) Loading /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/drivers//fglrx_drv.so Backtrace: Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dl-open.c: 260: dl_open_worker: Assertion `_dl_debug_initialize (0, args->nsid)->r_state == RT_CONSISTENT' failed! giving up. xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X server xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error. Radeonhd won't recognize this card (an OEM'd X1800/R520) and radeon works but is sloooooow... Phoronix http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=amd_r500_legacy&num=1 says that this card will be unsupported with 9.4 and beyond, but we're not quite there yet... Can anyone help? Thanks, C
