I upgraded my kernel and fglrx on an x86_64 machine recently and X will
not start. When I try 'startx' from a console, I get a message of the form

Radeonhd won't recognize this card (an OEM'd X1800/R520) and radeon works
but is sloooooow...

Phoronix

  http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=amd_r500_legacy&num=1

says that this card will be unsupported with 9.4 and beyond, but we're not
quite there yet...

Can anyone help?
Thanks,
C
