What I said was that what you're trying to do is absolutely doable and
I pointed you to two programs that already do it and have the proper
formatting code (namely the rt1-to-rt3 and rt2-to-rt3 converters, both
available on cpan, the rt1 converter may be a bit cleaner)

Also, you don't have to CC, I read the list and set Reply-To
explicitly
