Hi all,
on the subject you should keep in mind the fact that for RTAI users
fifos should be usefull only to communicate with applications using just
interrupt handlers. Since I like those applications, especially if they
use the FPU, I kept FIFOS, the way I wanted to use them.
In fact RTAI users are strongly advised to avoid FIFOS altogheter if
they are using any RTAI scheduler. In such a case LXRT, and expecially
LXRT-Informed, is a far better, flexible and more powerfull RTAI proper
solution, far exceeding fifos capabilities. Recall that with LXRT you
can fully simmetrize your apllications inter-intra user and kernel
space, by using all the RTAI services also in user space (Linux
processes).
Ciao, Paolo.
