What is S-gauge
answer requires several pages on history of toy and model trains - definition
of gauge compared to scale - explanations of the meaning of hi-rail and
tinplate - explanation that the expression "S-gauge" has no intrinsic meaning.

By the way - this list is supposed to be devoted to S-scale - why do
discussions like this even arise?
