What ever we are we need to work together. The deep pockets of
the 3 rail market allowed Atlas O to enter the 2 rail market by
building cars for both segments. The cars had some compromises to be
able work with both kinds of wheels and couplers but they are still
very nice stuff at a good price, much like the SHS and American models
S scale cars.
If the flyer/ hirail S segment is really the most numerous part of S
scale/gauge then maybe they will support some new equipment? I'd love
to see atlas test the S scale market with their cylindrical hopper or
their 60 foot auto parts car. Seems like instead of churning out yet
more Ho, N, or O scale car it would make sense for them to try ONE new
S scale/gauge car? They might find new ground to mine? and if S was to
take off Atlas could make a ton of money selling S scale flextrack and
switches.....dave
