Here's something I can add about converting those cars to scale, though. 
Don't just remove the highrail wheels and insert the scale wheels.  Your 
couplers will be too high.  You have to remove the trucks, remove the little 
spacer, then put trucks back on.

The high-rail coupler box that comes on the car appears to be identical to a 
KD box, but it's not.  You can reuse the original box with a KD scale 
coupler, but you may have to file out the inside of the slot on the KD 
coupler just a little.
