Bill, Ya know, if ya gotta feed all that info into the computer to generate your information on future pickup and set outs...why not just keep your cards system and work the system accordingly....I mean ya can't bill someone freight charges or demurage. But hey I guess you could generate a wheel report, make up a switch list..debit and credit demurage, print up bills of lading for each load, rate it, get the tariff, charge for switching moves, print a bill for the customer, collect for the bill, make a deposit, make sure the employees are paid, if they have to rerail a car, make sure they get the 19 miles credit they have coming.
Ya know sometimes I get a lot of pleasure of just sitting down there and not doing anything....or even sometime doing nothing.. You better not be in bed yet, you better go get that tariff published and determine your switching charges and see which tariffs you are going to be a party to, so you can be listed in them, oh yeah and pry open all those boxcar doors ya got glued shut, empties ain't gonna pay the bills.. gale ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill Fraley To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, September 10, 2008 8:05 PM Subject: {S-Scale List} Systems inquirey Anyone out there keep track of all their equipment? I have [old] card system that helps me manually keep track of where all of my cars and trains are on the layout. Anyone out there have a software system that keeps track of all the equipment, runs trains and can tell where every car is on their layout? And so on ........... Can anyone recommend such software?
