‘Tis true. Fond memories of being on the far side of Lobato bridge taking
movies of one of the trains. Unfortunately, the directional microphone on
the camera did not pick up the multiple echoes which came from all over...
Something you don’t learn until too late. The PFM (and I think the PBL) sound
systems do offer the echo simulation – one of the reasons I still have them.

I think the only exception and one thing that so far the sound people
have been unable to duplicate is the sound of a K class engine's whistle
echoing off the mountain walls. You can hear those whistles for miles
down the canyons--a sound you'll never forget especially if you're
walking the rails not far away!
