Michael raises some excellent points. If we don't want this to be a true scale
car, then we should be happy with a car made to AF standards. I mean, an AF
car has 2 sides, 2 ends, a top and a bottom, so isn't it close enough for this
car? <sarcasm intended in the previous statement> In HO, they have gotten
away for the most part from Athearn blue box and extra wide (because of the
motor size) hoods on diesels, and now have more scale offerings. Do we want to
regress to that in S scale?

I just want to say that when a car is designed, some people seem as though they
don't really care to 'pay' for extra details. It seems to me that if all this
trouble is gone to to produce a specific car, I would want it to be done as
correctly and as detailed as possible. I mean let's face it, IF WE'RE LUCKY,
we'll see it made only once. Why not strive to put out the best we can have? I
personally do not look at ANY car with the attitude that it should be done
sub-par just to 'save' a few bucks. <snip> That's what makes other modelers in
other scales sit up and take notice! They say; 'hey, maybe S scale has
something here!' And THAT"S because of the detail! <snip>
