Hi Bill;

No arguing, I was not aware that LWS had made any cars in resin. The only
boxcars I had seen from them were the styrene atrocities which came out for the
Worcester NASG convention (I think). AM made their boxcar shortly after, and I
think LWS left S scale about that time.

The ends on your model are definitely PS-1. Pullman made a small number of all
welded lightweight cars in 1938-1940 period (I had to look that up) for a
handful of railroads including NKP, CGW, UP and B&LE. Totals were in the 100s
of cars. They had two variations of the Pullman "Car builders" end, like the
SAL B-7 and some other cars; lightweight steel welded sides and a radial roof.
Pullman Standard also produced thousands of cars to the standard riveted AAR
design during the same period.

In 1947 PS made the first PS-1 boxcar (the term PS-0 was coined by John Nehrich
in the 1980's as shorthand for pre-war Pullman Standard light weight welded...
the term was never used by Pullman Standard themselves). Most PS-1s were all
welded, although C&NW at least had some riveted versions.
