Hi all;

We have two West Coast NYC experts, Ed. L. and Dick Karnes. What either of them
has to say is certainly worthy of consideration. I don't know how many other
NYC fans there are in S, although Jeff English also is well qualified.

The Wabash Valley shell on an AM drive would be OK, but there are really a lot
of compromises. To get anywhere close to the quality of an SHS unit would take
a LOT of work and many detail parts. Rather like buying an old Varney F3 in HO
and trying to make it look like an Athearn "Genesis" unit. If you do have some
sort of time limit, I'd keep looking for an SHS F unit and decals to repaint.
It will be a time saving and make you happier in the long run.
