I'm not John but code87 wheels are P64 and require P64 trackwork,  
namely switches.
The code87 wheels have a "Proto" contour and will NOT operate thru  
standard points reliably.  Conversely; a code88 wheel is RP25 and will  
not even fit thru a P64 flangeway.  BTW; a tru proto wheel would be  
code 86 but physics is a bi******.
