Looks like our messages crossed in the ether...

The Rock Island Color Guide indicates these were new cars and the photo clearly 
shows a built date of "9-60" for CRIX 2268.  There was another group of "RB 
Series" CRIX cars that were lettered the same but definitely rebuilds.  They 
were numbered 20500 - 20599.  If you can get a copy of the RI Color Guide, 
check out pages 52 and 54.

Bob, I would think an RI guy like you would have a copy of the book!
