The desire for SP has always been there, this is not really a new thing. It's
time finally arrived is all. That Skinny kid in Florida made a gallant effort
trying to bring in SP models, it's just that he ran into a few problems in
Korea. Sometime ask him about getting ran into, then ask him who is it that who
is driving Taxis in Seoul these days, or monsters from the past, or about "Oh"
who?
The best thing that ever happened to River Raisin (IMO) was when Ajin bit
the dust and River Raisin went to a new builder. That became the dawn of a new
era in S scale. How many know that River Raisin produced a "sleeper" in S
scale. That little 2-6-6-2 that they brought in runs just fine on 30 inch
radius track, runs like a fine watch, and does not look weird on that tight
of radius! They are now all gone and I doubt any of them will come up for sale
in the near future. I bought one and that was because i had no idea what i was
doing at the time.
I thought I had stopped buying any brass that isn't SP but I gave in and
bought one of the new 0-6-0's, A lot of the SP guys bought the USRA 0-6-0 . A
model that the SP didn't use! What the SP modelers really wanted were SP
0-6-0's but this is still around:

And that entity still plans on bringing in the SP 0-6-0's, along with those
NKP hopper cars. That makes it tough for River Raisin to do the SP 0-6-0
project. River Raisin can still do the SP 2-6-0 and the SP 4-6-0, and I'll be
placing orders for each.of those when the time comes
DISCLOSURE: I have no vested interest in River Raisin models and I DO NOT
model SP. I model the D&RGW, S and Sn3, and I really doubt there will ever be
enough support for any standard gauge D&RGW engines. I'm also nuts.
